Introduction and Brief🎯

This case study presents the conceptual design for Breadventure’s website. I was hired and responsible for the design consultation and creation of the website visual identity, while the implementation and development of the official website were handled separately.

Breadventure is a charming sourdough bakery nestled in the heart of Thảo Điền, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City. Breadventure is renowned for its delicious, freshly-baked sourdough breads and pastries, and they needed a website that reflected their commitment to quality and community.

The primary challenge was to capture the essence of Breadventure to translate onto the website. The design needed to convey the warmth and authenticity of the bakery while appealing to its existing as well as potential audience, both local Vietnamese customers and the expat community in Thảo Điền.

Another key challenge was to create an intuitive preorder system. Breadventure offers preorder delivery every Thursday, with in-store guest services from Thursday to Sunday, so it was crucial to make the ordering process seamless for customers.

Additionally, showcasing high-quality images of the products was essential to especially for an F&B website, but it was important to ensure that these images did not compromise the website’s load times, providing a smooth user experience.

Target Audience (User Personas) ✍️

After discussing the client’s business and product, we’ll conduct user research to help identify the needs, goals, and pain points of the website’s target audience. By designing a website that is tailored to the user’s needs and expectations, the website can stand out in a crowded market and attract more users.

Solutions 🧠

Modern, User-Friendly Design

The website was designed with simplicity and functionality in mind, emphasizing clear navigation and a clean, modern layout.

The site reflects the bakery’s inviting atmosphere, we use the typeface that they are also used for the menu, with large visuals of the products and a focus on easy access to the menu and ordering information.

E-Commerce and Preorder

As Breadventure has a special requirement for preorder, the usual ecommerce flow wouldn’t cut it, we implemented an preorder system with a popup notice depending on the day the visitor visit the website, allowing customers to reserve their bread and pastries for delivery or pickup.

This feature is designed to simplify the process for regular customers while accommodating the bakery’s limited stock and weekly delivery schedule.

Product Showcase

A product page displays bread and pastries with prices and stock information. High-quality images and product details make it easier for customers to understand what they are ordering and entice them to place an order.

Storytelling and Community Connection

The “Our Story” section connects with customers by sharing the bakery’s mission and values, helping to establish a relationship beyond just the products. This personal touch encourages customers to return and engage with the brand.
